Smith & Sons, LLC is a general contractor that specializes in Division 2 (Site Utility) and Division 22 (Plumbing) work. We were founded in 1984 as Smith & Sons, a sole proprietorship owning and maintaining residential real estate in Washington, D.C.
In 1994, we registered with the District of Columbia and have been performing maintenance services for many of its agencies for the past two decades.
Smith & Sons obtained licensure and bonding and began performing major site utilities installation work. We are based in Washington, DC, and are a Certified Business Enterprise, DDOT/WMATA, MDOT (pending), and HUD Section III.
Safety is paramount to us, and that is the reason why we have never had an injury in our work history. Through our affiliation with our industry’s top trade group, National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), we have developed an impeccable safety program. Our CEO, Mike Smith, holds an OSHA-30 and sits on the NUCA-DC Safety Committee. He created and implemented our safety programs in consultation with the sage advice of the NUCA member safety directors. Our staff adheres to rigorous guidelines through regular training in the classroom and on construction sites.
Mr. Smith encourages projects and volunteer efforts that support the community.
